(Are the staff members assigned to your show constantly changing? Be sure the show's "institutional memory" (IM) is not lost. IM is the accumulated experience gained from doing the show for many years including establishing the right (and wrong) way to do certain things. For example:
SOPs for confirming an attendee, managing the advisory board, updating the floor plan, finding a venue, etc.
who are the key contacts in your market (associations, magazines, gurus) and what is their history with you
which are the best outside contractors and outsource resources to use
Granted a new team may need to "shake things up" because the IM is not always right. But be sure you consider the old way before you decide the new way is better. For example, the tried-and-true badge package contains exactly what the pre-registered attendees need.
Retain your IM by documenting processes and procedures, details of outside relationships, sample promotion packages, etc. Require the team to go to this file first before they change anything.
